Two Farmer’s Talkin’

“The corn’s heavy.”

“It’s elephant high by fourth of July. Good harvest.”

“Don’t count your chicken ’fore they’re hatched.”

“I ain’t talkin’ chickens. I’m talkin’ corn.”

“Cool yer cucumbers. It’s six, half dozen, or the other what I said.”

“Corn comes in bushels, not by the dozen, loony.”

“I’ve got my eggs in one basket, thanks. I’m not shy a brick a load.”

“Now yer talkin’ buildin’s plus the chickens! All’s I said was good harvest.”

“I agree…

if the Lord’s willin’…     and the creek don’t rise!”
